Flight delay and compensation up to 600 €

Have you ever had your flight canceled at the last minute? If so, you probably don't have pleasant memories of that experience. We don't blame you, as a flight cancellation can significantly complicate a vacation or business trip. However, there are cases when you are entitled to financial compensation for the cancellation. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of passengers are aware of this. We, however, have many years of experience in this field. When are you entitled to compensation for a delayed flight?

The legal framework for financial compensation is called Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council, establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers. Don't worry, we won't bore you with paragraphs and laws.

Simply put, if certain conditions are met, you have an undeniable right to financial compensation for a delayed flight. What are those conditions?

1. The delay must not be caused by external circumstances that the airline cannot influence – adverse weather, natural disaster, employee strike, poor political situation
2. The flight in question lands at the destination more than three hours later than the originally scheduled arrival time
3. The airline did not notify you of the flight cancellation more than two weeks before the original departure time OR between two weeks and seven days before departure, without offering you a replacement flight departing no later than two hours before the original scheduled departure time OR within seven days before the original departure, without offering you a replacement flight departing no later than one hour before the original scheduled departure time

HELP: Specific example.

“Janka had a ticket purchased from Vienna to Paris. However, the original departure at 15:20 was delayed to 18:00 due to technical problems, almost three hours later. Currently, Janka is not entitled to compensation.

However, the later departure also affected the arrival in Paris, which was moved from the original 17:20 to 20:30. This means that the delay at the final destination is three hours and ten minutes. Here, the right to financial compensation arises.

Since it is a flight shorter than 1,500 kilometers, Janka was entitled to €250. And with our company, she received it.”
